Define your team’s constraints

The most challenging part of capacity planning is understanding your team's constraints and buffers. The capacity calculator allows you to set specific constraints per member for an accurate and realistic calculation of their sprint capacity.

1. Working days - This number will be calculated automatically according to your sprint dates and the selected country. You can edit this number if needed.
   ​
2. Capacity per day - Update the number of story points or hours per day each member of your team can take on this sprint. This number is multiplied by the number of working days to get the total capacity number.

3. PTO - Update a member’s personal time off in days. This number will be deducted from the member’s working days.
   ​
4. Holidays - The number of holidays will be calculated automatically according to your sprint dates and the selected country, you can edit the number if needed. This number will be deducted from the member’s working days.

5. On-call - Update the number of story points or hours (based on your selected estimation method) that will be dedicated to on-call activities this sprint. This number will be deducted from the total capacity of the member.

6. Meeting - Update the number of story points or hours that will be dedicated to meetings this sprint. This number will be deducted from the total capacity of the member.

7. Interviews - Update the number of story points or hours that will be dedicated to interviews this sprint. This number will be deducted from the total capacity of the member.

8. Unplanned bugs - Update the number of story points or hours you'd like to take as a buffer for unplanned bugs this sprint. This number will be deducted from the total capacity of the member.

9. Carry-over - Update the estimation of potential carry-over tasks from the current sprint to the next. This number will be deducted from the total capacity of the member.

10. Shared resource - If this specific developer is a shared resource between multiple teams you can update the number in this field in days. It will be deducted from the member’s working days.
